Second opinions and referrals
We understand that there are times when pet owners may wish to seek a second veterinary opinion.
This can be helpful if a diagnosis or treatment options are complex, treatment options are unclear or you would like reassurance before proceeding.
We are happy to support requests for second opinions and aim to work collaboratively with you and the vet you choose to ensure the best interests of your pet.
How to request a second opinion if you are not a registered client
- Second opinions can be requested by you or your usual veterinary practice.
- We will ask permission to contact your usual vet to obtain your pet’s medical history, test results and treatment records.
- This ensures that we have the most complete information and avoids the unnecessary repetition of tests or procedures.
Please note that a second opinion consultation is treated as a new clinical assessment, and consultation fees will apply.
