We also run our own in-house emergency service from our Colne site, giving our team the opportunity to develop skills within emergency and critical care and support with rewarding and enriching cases.

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Consulting Focus Vet

The Role

  • Consulting-focused position with a strong emphasis on client care and clinical decision-making
  • Routine consultations and case work-ups
  • Working alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team, with certificate holders in medicine, dentistry and emergency and critical care, supported by a highly skilled nursing team
  • Opportunity to undertake routine surgical procedures if desired

Hours and Flexibility

  • Full-time position (part-time and flexible working arrangements considered)
  • No out-of-hours commitments
  • Participation in a shared weekend rota helping us continue to provide excellent care and continuity for our patients

The Role

  • Some branch work may include sole-charge consulting
  • Participation in OOH rota (weekends only)-1 in 8 Fri & Sun on call (Mon and Tue off in lieu)
  •  1in 8 Saturdays – a Friday off in lieu
  • Working alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team, with certificate holders in medicine, dentistry and emergency and critical care, supported by a highly skilled nursing team

We provide our own OOH service, with experienced vets and a dedicated night nurse team, ensuring continuity of care

The Role

As a valued member of our nursing team, you’ll play an active role in delivering outstanding patient care, including:

Small Animal Receptionist – Part Time Position

Stanley House Veterinary Group is looking for a friendly, organised, and compassionate Receptionist to join our welcoming team.

As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our busy veterinary practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and animals in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Our reception team work at all sites (Colne, Burnley and Barnoldswick) and therefore having your own transport is essential. They are a happy, friendly, and supportive team and full in-house training will be given. However, it is a complex role with lots to learn.

Salary – £12.80 per hour

We are a well-established, RCVS accredited veterinary practice with branches across East Lancashire. Our team is passionate about providing outstanding patient care while creating a positive and supportive workplace for our colleagues.

This part-time position is for 20 hours per week

Mon – 8:30AM – 2:00PM COLNE

Tuesday – 2:00PM – 7:00PM BURNLEY

Thursday – 8:30AM – 1:00PM BURNLEY

Friday – 2:00 – 7:00PM COLNE

1 in 8 Saturdays at COLNE

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a warm, professional, and compassionate experience for clients both in person and over the telephone
  • Managing appointments, client enquiries, and patient records accurately
  • Supporting clients with information regarding preventative healthcare, Pet Health Plans, insurance, appointments, and practice services
  • Working closely with the veterinary and nursing teams to support patient care and client communication
  • Carrying out basic telephone triage and recognising emergency situations appropriately
  • Maintaining a clean, welcoming reception environment
  • Supporting colleagues across the practice and contributing positively to the team culture
  • Upholding confidentiality, GDPR, and practice protocols at all times

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills empathetic, professional, and approachable
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Can remain calm and organised in a busy environment
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Has a genuine passion for client and animal care
  • Willing to learn and engage in ongoing training and development

Previous veterinary reception experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Assisting with cleaning, preparation, and maintenance of clinical areas
  • Helping to maintain high hygiene and infection control standards
  • Supporting with patient handling and general animal care
  • Assisting reception and client care teams when required
  • A varied and hands-on role within a busy veterinary practice environment
