Small Animal Emergency

At Stanley House Vets, we are proud to successfully run our own Out of Hours service from the Colne branch for clients registered with us (if you are registered with another Veterinary Surgery, please call the out of hours service they provide).

Emergencies can happen at any time of the day; we are here to help at that time of need which can often be when the daytime surgery has closed.

Out of hours surgery starts from 7pm weekdays, 4pm Saturdays and all-day Sunday/bank holidays/Christmas, meaning our dedicated staff are here 24/7, 365 days a year.

Emergencies during our opening hours

If you and your pet find yourself in an emergency situation during our routine opening hours, please call ahead to advise us that you are attending the practice so that we can ensure we are ready for your arrival.

Emergencies outside of our opening hours

How it works

In the event you need us for an unfortunate emergency, in the first instance call our OOH service on 01282 863892 and follow the recorded instructions.

Your details will be taken from our OOH receptionist, we know this can be a stressful time but please give the receptionist all the information they require.

Your call will then be passed onto the OOH veterinary team.

The Veterinary surgeon/registered nurse will then return your call to triage the emergency, (please make sure you have your phone to hand) they will discuss the case with you, offering advice and if appropriate, arrange an appointment with the on-call Veterinary surgeon.

We do not take walk in appointments; the team could be carrying out an emergency operation or be dealing with a number of other emergencies – so please always phone in the first instance to book an OOH appointment
