Inpatient and Out of Hours Care

Your pet’s comfort and welfare are our priority, whether they need to stay with us for monitoring, treatment or recovery.

Continuous care for your pet

Pets requiring hospitalisation receive dedicated inpatient care from our experienced veterinary team.

Our facilities allow us to closely monitor patients, administer medications, provide pain relief and respond quickly if their condition changes.

For patients staying overnight, care is provided by our night nursing team, including Registered Veterinary Nurses trained in emergency and critical care.

This means that your pet has one of our team onsite looking after them, even outside of normal opening hours.

Because we operate our own inpatient and emergency service, your pet will usually remain within our practice throughout their stay, reducing stress and avoiding unnecessary transfers to external providers unless specialist referral is required.

Support when it matters most

Emergencies don’t always happen during the working day. That’s why we provide an in-house 24-hour out of hours emergency service, offering continuity of care for our clients and their pets.

If your pet becomes suddenly unwell or injured outside of our normal opening hours:

  • Please call our main practice number and follow the recorded instructions.
  • Your call will be handled by a trained member of our team.
  • One of our clinical team  will assess the situation and advise whether an emergency appointment is required.
  • Please call beforehand to arrange an emergency appointment, as our team may already be attending to other urgent cases.

By running our own out of hours service, we ensure that pets needing emergency treatment — including those already hospitalised — receive care from their familiar, experienced practice team using our own facilities wherever possible.

Initial cost of out of hours and emergency care

  • An emergency consultation and out of hours consultation fee will apply when you attend for emergency treatment.
  • Any further diagnostics, treatments, medications or inpatient care will incur an additional fee, and this will be discussed with you prior to creating a care plan. An estimate will then be provided.
  • We are transparent about initial and ongoing costs and will always prioritise your pet’s welfare while keeping you informed.

If you are concerned about costs, please discuss this with the veterinary team at the time of your call.
