Consultations – Clients Coming to Our Surgeries

If your pet is unwell, we will assess if we can help your pet remotely and you may be offered a phone consultation. Phone consultations are great for more minor problems that your pet may have. If a phone consultation isn’t suitable for your pets needs and you are asked to come to the surgery, a receptionist will go through how we are currently operating clients coming to our surgeries.

If you are required to bring your pet to one of our surgeries it is essential that you read our COVID-19 appointment guide prior to your appointment.

Please click here to read our COVID-19 appointment guide.

If you are required to enter any of our surgeries please ensure you wear a face covering and use the provided hand sanitiser upon entry to all of our surgeries.

Please maintain at least 2-meters distance apart from any staff and other clients.

At Colne if there are 2 people already in the reception waiting area, you must wait outside.

At Burnley and Barnoldswick if there are 2 people already in the reception waiting areas, you must wait outside.

How does it work?

If your pet is unwell, we will assess if we can help your pet remotely and you may be offered a phone consultation. If you wish to have a phone consultation you will be put on our phone call list and a vet will give you a call back as soon as they possibly can.

Will I be charged?

Yes, you will be charged for a phone consultation and a pre-payment will be taken over the phone by a receptionist.

However, if your pet needs to be physically seen by the vet you will not be charged a second consultation. If you are a member of our Pet Health Plan you will continue to receive discounts on consultations and any required medication.

Social distancing at Stanley House Vets

We currently have strict social distancing measures in place across all of our surgeries. However, due to the nature of the jobs vets and nurses cannot always keep 2 metres apart for less than 15 minutes and comply to social distancing measures. Our staff may occasionally be within 2 meters apart when an animal is being examined and frequently when undergoing surgery.

In addition to wanting our staff to remain healthy we also need to minimise the impact of how many staff we would need to send home, should one member of staff contract Coronavirus. We have applied a test and trace system within our practice to help manage this.

Thank you for your understanding

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your custom and continued support and for all your understanding through these unprecedented times. The management team are keeping things under constant review and we will update you with any changes.

Take care and stay well – From all our staff at Stanley House Vets
